Hysterical overreaction???

In this thread, started a couple of weeks ago, I criticised the Police as a bunch of overgrown, hyperactive schoolboys

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ted-37442.html

My comments were intended to be sarcastic and a little tongue-in-cheek.

You may imagine my surprise when read this, particularly the non-outcome ......

I don't know what other members might think, but I think that there are serious questions that need answering here.

Well I have to agree with you on this one bob, If the old bill are happy to prosecute a motorist who goes 5 miles over the spead limit, then surely this is worth a trip to court for this guy

I loved this rather ridiculous comment,
Quote:

His wife Susan said: "I was gutted I missed it all.
I was gutted? you would have been with a sword that size if, you hadn't missed it all!

Please note the lack of a " at the end of the comment is because of the Obbo', not that I missed it off!

I agree, the police do seem to over react these days. Sub machine guns with 30 round magazines taped together, 9mm side arms with 13 round magazines, and spares, criminal being escorted to court, armed guards all round the place, who are they expecting John Wayne and the Comancheroes.

I used to see the police regularly on ranges practising, some of them I wouldn't trust with a cap gun.

Retlaw.

They have to be prepared for anything.

I am sure they don't have two sets of equipment, one for armed robberies and another set they keep just incase they have to deal with someone carrying a knife.

They always turn out fully equipped.

Quite right Neil, but what's the pint in these guys turning out, armed to the teeth, ready for a serious incident, then taking no action against the culprit, seems rather strang to me
