A size 16 girl has got through to the Miss England finals. I hope she shows The other skinny minnies a thing or two, and it shows the showbiz industry in general that bigger girls, can be beautiful!!

Although its unlikely she will win Miss England, but could you image if she does.... the faces on the people at Miss World!! That would be excellent!!!

In the past three years i've gone from a size 16 to a size 10. But that was for me and has no reflection on what I think about other peoples sizes.

Its just a PC stunt, if she wins it will be a waste of a place 'cus I can't see her having a chance of winning Miss World just because of the current bias towards super skinny mingers at the moment worldwide.

Marilyn Monroe was also a size sixteen, but I reckon she wouldn't get very far in the current size zero media world of today.

By the way, I think she looks very like Monica Lewinsky. I do hope she's not decided to wear a navy dress for the finals. Stains can be a ****** to get out.:D

The girls for these competitions are never size zero, they're ALWAYS curvy.

Yes they aren't usually a size 16 but even america enter girls with good figure because they know the skinny girls don't look good in the clothes for these sorts of competitions.

I'm a big fan of these contests because the girls tend to be really intelligent and that gets played on, they don't just ignore it.

I also don't think size 16 is fat, but obviously you do Davo or you wouldn't have made that comment. Shame on you.

Wish her the best of luck although I dont think she will get anywhere (and thats not being b1tchy) its just obviously as many have commented, its always the "thinner" people that make it through. Its a shame that that is the way it is and the media is to blame for that but it just proves that you dont have to be a size 10 to be beautiful, beauty comes in all sizes and this will possibly make some of the bigger (than size 10) girls feel a lot better about themselves and more comfortable with how they naturally are.

If you've gone from 16 to 10 good on you lass, your appearence is for you not others, although I'm a bloke I have to keep my weight in check, I tnd to diet in the winter so I can get out for a few drinks in the summer months. From 22nd Sept last year to good Friday I dropped from 14 stone 9lb to 12 stone 3lb, but I still like girls that bit bigger

Thats good jaysay, ive lost a stone in 3 months (not putting before and after weights lol) the problem is though women will never be happy with thier bodies until they are perfect like what they see on tv and in mags, some people think thats how you have to be to look attractive
