Re: peel house

You may be right, or maybe its just full of drunk, drugged up teens causing havoc in the area and generally making residents lives a misery:D:D

Re: peel house

Unless something of use is done with this place it needs removing ie. Youth centre, nursery, skills centre etc. It’s an eyesore and has been for years, totally out of character with the rest of the buildings on Avenue Parade.

Re: peel house

Must agree, the building itself sticks out like a sore thumb, even when it was in use it looked a mess.

It was people like Britcliff and myself that worked our tails of to get the Youth and community centre which now stands on Harvey Street

Presume you have read this Tosh:-

Rehab centre could face wrath of residents - News - Accrington Observer

Personally, it wouldn't worry me if I lived near to it .. as one of web comments, better to make use of the building than let it rot away.

No, I have'nt that's true, have you Cashy ? To me, would only be a little like the previous medical centre and providing other services beside drug/alcohol dependencies. Only will be open from 9 a.m. > 6 p.m. and no drugs on the premises. Think the residents would grumble no matter what type of usage was applied for .. even a funeral parlour.

Not against youth centres at all, but noticed Jaysay's comments re. Harvey Street. Even though the kids there were not doing much harm, sat outside, phoning, running around and a car bombing up and down showing off, as I passed the other night. Think residents would be more bothered by this type of facility.
