Re: Teachers walk out...
From what I have read the NUTs seem to preach a lot of Pc - ism .... It is nice to know that, at heart, they are just a bunch of greedy bastards like the rest of us:rolleyes:

Re: Teachers walk out...
Aren't teachers split in to 2 unions these days rather than all be in the NUT ? Would guess different schools will be affected in different ways.

Re: Teachers walk out...
Schools aren't allowed to ask what union a teacher is in either, so real figures on exactly how many will be striking will be blurred. Teachers in other unions will have to decide whether to stay in school and earn their day's wages or express a form of solidarity with their colleagues in the NUT.
I don't really see the point in striking, personally, but you can bet it's going to get a bit messy. |
Re: Teachers walk out...
Think of all the parents who are going to have to find someone to look after the kids. How kids will be put at risk by these teachers and left home alone?

Re: Teachers walk out...
Teachers went on strike when I was at Rhyddings, all it did was stir up trouble. We weren“t allowed on school premises at lunchtime - yeh right, that will be Mr Heffernans car jumped all over and pushed into teh wall then.
They should have teh right to strike and TBH I don“t blame them, I wouldn“t teach in most of todays schools for double what they earn |
Re: Teachers walk out...
To be fair most teachers ( secondary anyway) have support staff to deal with any trouble or bad behaviour so they don`t have to deal with half of what they used to. The teaching part is easy its the keeping kids in line which isn`t.
