Sorry i meant Hyndburn homes.....
Last year i had a couple of leaflets through my door about safety from HH,one of the issues being about checking every unknown callers ID and making sure everything was ligitimate-even to the point of sending workmen/women away if they had not phoned in advance to say they were coming round.
Im happy enough with that-good on them making people aware of bogus callers and for caring.........do they b*ggery.
Who landed on my doorstep on Wednesday?A HH gas man who gave me his.....wait for it.......bank card as ID! :mad: yea right mate....sure your stepping foot in my house,no chance.....ya might nick some of my pink things :eek::(
He was sat in his van outside (that had NO HH markings) so i pretended to do litter picking in my garden n got his number plate.....called HH and apparently his a temp that started on Monday that has no ID.......ah well thats fine then,.....not.
I still refused him in so they sent a different guy out to me today.

*.......n i offered him a brew cos he showed me his ID twice haha*

Ive luckily never had any problems like that with them, they have always shown id (and if not its coz i already know them) but will be sure to check in future if they dont provide me with anything.

Worth the girls knowing that hh have a girl gas engineer, she is really nice, I presume you could ask for a female if you preferred.

She is lovely,thats the one that came last year.....better looking than me though so she aint coming in my house :eek::D

She is nice - came to my house during the fitting of new central heating last March.
The other chaps were all excited about their 'new apprentice' and made a fuss of her.

S - "but it cant be, that was a woman"

There is some news on the Accy Obs website today about Hyndburn Homes doing improvements at Wellington Court and leaving pensioners without heating for days.
A few months ago there was word that they have electric heaters to provide for such cases. It looks like they haven't enough of them.
I think the problem stems from the use of subcontractors who are not actual HH employees.

The heaters they lend you are rubbish anyway and use up alot of electric, the ones i was lent heated about a foot in front of them..... the rest of the house was freezing.

I do many home visits especially to vulnerable people and it amazes me how many people still don't ask for ID :(

Last month I went to a customer and she asked for my corgi card, I proceeded to put my shoe covers on whilst she checked the card, she looked on the BACK of the card, where the list of elements is ie gas fires, water heaters etc, she said, of all the people who have worked here lately, you are the first to use shoe covers to protect the carpet! touche', i said, you are the first person EVER to check my card back and front!

Miss Kitty was fire alright i take it?

i remember when i lived there and that fire was dangerous!, the flue was blocked and a load of soot kept falling down, so i rang them and do ya know what they said to me?....ya lucky ya not dead!!:eek:

well that was about 10 years ago:rolleyes:, ya might have had a new fire by now, but knowing them lot, probably not!

i had a fire check a few years ago and the man told me my flue was too small and i needed a man to come round and sort it out for me!!! lol

that is way out of order, as I work for a housing assoc I can tell you that the percentage of people paying full rent is at an all time high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:

I pay full rent......which includes maintenance (says so in my contract).....
