I agree with the surgeon on this one.
If the operation isn't vital then it would be ethically wrong to go ahead with it if it could result in the woman dying.
Maybe it acted as a big incentive for the woman to lose weight so she could have the operation and get rid of the pain.
Hopefully she will continue to do so and be pain free soon and healthier to boot!

If you want to lose weight then the doctor will refer you to a dietician, as they did with me. My resaons for this were to loose the weight which I had put on during and post pregnancy (although lucky for me ill NEVER have my figure back without surgery, thanks to all the medical profesionals who have advised me of this) But it only takes a word with your doctor and he will refer you expecially if you are overweight or obese, they do all they can to help you lose weight becuase its beneficial for them if we arent overweight or obese as there are less chance of health problems

i was referred to the dietician when i was diagnosed with diabetes, this was done through my doctors surgery i now attend what is called healthy lifestyle which is run by the nhs, they are very helpful & have different departments you can attend with a refferal from your dietician, am currantly waiting to go to what is called "waisters"...bit like weight watchers but you don't pay..:D..& will also be putting my name down for their excersize regime ...wow if all that works i'll be well happy .
