If you won the lottery?

What would you do?

I would buy a house for stability and possibly a business so that the money would last. I would put some away for tyler in a trust fund as well... would you invest or blow it?

If I won the Lottery I'd be incredibly suprised...as I don't play it.

To me it's just like a tax, but one we can choose not to play, and besides I don't agree with a lot of the 'good causes' some of the profits go to.

I'd much rather save the pound or so a week, and go on a cruise when I'm seventy.

Though the cruiseship is as likely to hit an iceberg, as most of you winning the lottery.:D

Re: If you won the lottery?

mm i think about this often - but i dont do the lottery lol so i never would win would i :D

but if i did - i would tell my mum and dad to find a house they liked as they dont like where they are living at the moment - then i would buy it for them
same with my sister
have a shopping spree
go on holiday for a month :D
then i would look for a house for me and my fella near the sea
pay for the house to be renovated
then learn to drive and buy a car (not a top notch one - just a runaround would do)
with the rest of the money i would take up a graphics design and photography course an go on to set up my own business

I'd give my sisters and brothers a £100,000 each, then stick £10,000 each in my nieces and nephews and great nephew and great nieces bank account, then go on holiday........ and let all the furor of me winning die down and when its done come back to my newly renovated house.

Oh maybe take spug with me .... :p

Re: If you won the lottery?

I would still work, I like my job, have customers who rely on me being there, and dont like being idle, if it was enough money, I would probably create some of the affordable housing we so desperately need, repairs on those would occupy some time, but I would probably have some of the holidays I have missed out on over the years.

May I ask why canada?

I would buy two houses, one for me and one for mother. I would buy a Bentley. I would buy loads of clothes and makeup and shoes, because girls cant have enough of those... rest would probably have to go on fuel and insurance for said Bentley, in fact some driving lessons (or a driver) would be a good idea too.

*sarcasm* I wouldn't go abroad, there's too many foreign people there and I'm British and hate immigrants, so why on earth would I want to be one? *sarcasm*

P.S. the last sentence is marked sarcasm for the ease of some users, because it is sarcasm, therefore not serious in any way.

Id put 150k away for my little lads future. Then id buy my mum her house and have it renovated. Probably buy myself a nice house (something quite flash). Definately buy a couple of cars and maybe a few quad bikes (a guy can never have enough toys). Then id throw a huge party and invite everyone round. Oh and id invest in either a business or property.

:D Don't mince words Aleks !

Well, that is how the saying goes, I feel that it is maybe a lack of self confidence and need these machines to boost their egos. However, not sure that applies in your case ... :D To me, 'tis the men (or women) who have developed these machines that are the real studs, not the men who drive them ... that is easy.

Love that snow ... bring it on every year .... wouldn't trade it for anything, certainly not what happens south of '49 ... drought, brushfires, category 5 hurricanes, tornados ... snow defines us, like drive-by shootings defines Detroit:D And think of how that snow turns into fresh water, the stuff you guys are running out of faster than oil ... how long before it's "Please, Canada, may I have a glass of water.":alright::hidewall:
