Re: b t,
As is the case with most Call Centres. Luckily i'm with Virgin Media and their call centre is in England. Unless your calling Technical Support but they are still not all that bad.

Re: b t,
Dont get me going with the nightmare i had with BT when i first got connected (and all the failoed attempts) some of my calls were over 1 1/2 hours in length, it is absolutely ridiculous

Re: b t,
Hmmmm BT......took me nearly 2 weeks to get through to them when I moved house, I was on the phone once for just under 3 hours. One word for them PANTS !!!
|
Re: b t,
I've just moved everything over to Tiscali, who I already had my broadband with. Their package is a lot better than BT and I've always had decent service from Tiscali so thought I'd give them a go.

Re: b t,
yes - my last call was from Bt - couldnt really understand the thick indian accent he asked for my name and address to confirm security etc - then when i started telling him i was very unhappy with serviced received he kept repeating same thing then when i said that he had better not say that again because he was obviously reading from a card or something he asked for my name and address to confirm security lol ( no i have double typed by mistake he went back to the beginning of his spiel)
has anyone else noticed too- paying monthly you pay for the month in question and for the month in advance -each time - i have questioned this and got money back a lot - it is a common mistake i now pay quarterly and it is better and yes it is free but if i wanted to hang on the phone for indefinite lengths of time i would have a job as a call operator |
Re: b t,
The last time B.T rang me was about 6 weeks ago, they wanted me to sign up for a B.T. Credit Card, has anyone else had a similar call ?
|
Re: b t,
BT are a nightmare for holding the phone call, nevermind actually speaking to someone. I have once been on hold for an hour before actually hearing a human voice.
The accents don't bother me. |
Re: b t,
its a nightmare isnt it - the accents dont bother me - its just that i dont understand what they are saying - and they obviously dont have an understanding of common english "in context" rather than just understanding the words
is it not called BRITISH telecom i went back to them after they lay a promise to be served by english phoneoperators - that never happened |

Re: b t,
Trying to talk to BT is a joke.
Last year our BT Hub blew up. Fortunately son was in the room at the time and had the sense to unplug it. Then the fun started! Try explaining 'blew up' to someone in India who has only basic English and a script. They kept telling us to plug it back in Why and could they guarantee it would be safe? After 3 frustrating hours trying to explain the problem verbally I then emailed them. The reply, 24 hours later, was barely writen in English. I have met 8 year olds who could do much better. I corrected the punctuation and grammar and returned it to the sender asking for a reply from someone with writing skills above those of a 10 year old. They obviously gathered together and sent a reply with only two basic mistakes in it, but of course they did not answer the problem. I tried again by phone and could not understand a word the guy at the other end was saying. I passed phone to youngest son who has worked in India nd teaches English as a foreign language. He could not understand the guy neither. I did the only constructive thing and these circumstances and went for a bath. Son was clearly suffering internet withdrawal symptoms, he rang BT again and said we wanted to close our account. Amazingly he got through to someone in Newcastle and the guy there sorted the problem our withing 10 mins. A new BT Hub was duely received although 48 hours later than promised. Morale of the story if you want to talk to someone in England threaten to take your business elsewhere. |
Re: b t,
Just cancel the payments they will contact you then
|
Re: b t,
Same with most companies I find.
If you ring and get a muppet on the other end, hang up and ring again, saves time in the long run. BT are bad for it though, I find if you ring during the day its a better service. |
Re: b t,
Want to put money on it Mr D - i rang one day at 4pm from my sisters - when she came home at 6.15pm i was still on the phone!!! In that time i left my nephew with the phone and went for a 2 cigs outside (cant smoke in the house) when i came back nephew was singing along with the music - and complaining why they couldnt change their music!!! By the way when i put a complaint in to my other sister she told me to ring from a phone box next time - they answer them quicker!!!! Oh and dont ring off a mobile phone - it costs money which spug found out one night .... and you dont get an answer....
By the way one of my sisters works for bt - and when i complained to her she told me to write to them and complain about it. |
Re: b t,
dont bt have a ring back service?
