How to Decide?
 

What do you do when you want to please yourself and sit quietly, with a beer or two, or join in with folk who are doing your head in?

It´s becoming a problem for me at the moment as a couple of my mates are on a drinking binge. Their daughter screams none stop if she doesn´t get her own way and Mum and Dad don´t really know which is their planet.

I really can´t bear to see it happen as I´ve known them for years and they are lovely people. They won´t listen if I try to help and I´m not sure if I can. Go somewhere else and they´ll think, and rightly so, that I´ve had enough.

Just go somewhere else June, if nothing else it might make them think about what they are doing. Without trying to sound nasty it seems to me they need to get their priorities right and look to their daughter. I know it is hard when you have been friends for so long but you need to think about yourself as well and seeing them like this must be doing your head in.

I know that you are right Bernie but it´s a hard one. Mortgage isn´t being paid, Dad can´t be bothered to get a job and is home all day. The daughter is still having after school care, even though Dad could collect her. More money which they don´t have.

I´m selfish enough to want to go to my own local but I can´t bear to watch it go on.

At the end of the day June only you can decide but you sound very much like me and it appears to be affecting you really badly. You are not the one being selfish here if you want to go to your local then you should be able to.IMHO the people who bring their private lives into the local are the selfish ones.
