Re: Lord of Accrington anyone?

The bloke who owned Valhalla in Blackburn changed his name to "Lord Odin" and IIRC his wife was "Lady Goldenberry".
he was in the phone book for a while as that.

Or have £7K lying around doing nowt? Who knows what it will be worth in 10/20 years? Its a gamble but it could be worth it as an investment, who knows......

I remember a bully from Accrington called Ken Lord.
Always picking on smaller younger lads and hurting them.
This went on for a couple of years until in 1960 he was knocked down the stairs at Joe Mort's by a Para squaddie who two years earlier had been subjected to a hiding from this clown.
He stood at the bottom of the stairs (Two Flight) shouting abuse at the squaddie but no way would he come back up the stairs.
Many people saw this and the squaddie did'nt pay for drinks in Accy for a long time.
Joe Mort said at the time he had been waiting a long time to see someone do that.
