Bogof

Saw an item on Breakfast Telly this morning about BOGOF offers in supper markets. Unfortunately I don't do my own shopping these days, but quite often my Daughter, who does mine, comes in and says there was a BOGOF offer on one of my regular items. It seems though, a lot of people will buy things that are on offer even if they're not on their list. What do you do, do yopu just buy your normal things or are you tempted with a BOGOF offer?

I shop on line fortnightly.
If an item I buy regularly has a BOGOFF offer I stock up with it - OK if you have the space to store it.
It doesn't tempt me to buy the junk which may have the offer too.

When I do my online shopping, (especially tesco), they have a button that takes you straight through to the BOGOF (and other) special offers. I generally go through those first, and then do my normal shop around them

I do exactly the same thing! I don't buy something that's on offer just for the sake of it, only if I use it regularly. It's not a bargain if 6 months down the line you clear out your cupboards or freezer and chuck it away!

I remember when Asda, never gave offers, but the food was cheaper, but now they always do offers and have noticed that the prices are going up!!!

Asda dont do BOGOF, its always 2 for £1 etc etc

which i dont fall for!, I mean why go into a shop and lets say buy some fairy liquid, buy 2 for £1.50,...., lets say...90p for one, ...i only come in for 1 so why would i spend an extra 60p, for 2,...i dont need 2!....

I ALWAYS buy things like that when they are on special offer and stock up. Generally, by the time i come round to needing it again they are back on special saving me a little bit of money in the long run

There are reasons for that!! You never know when you're gonna need loo roll and theres nothing worse than running out. I still do it now, bought a pack of 16 rolls last week eventhough im the only one in the house who is toilet trained so they should last a while, its just worked out cheaper that way saving me a few pennies

Yeah, I do that. buying like that, be it toilets rolls, bleach etc it works out cheaper to buy when on special than to just buy as you need it. Very rarely do it with food items but on the household stuff like that I do.

Me too, I love the way asda show the total savings on your receipt, it make you feel better thinking that youve saved money

The most annoying thing about BOGOF is that guy who advertises double glazing on television.

'You buy one, you get one free.'

I read in the paper that he's been employed at Accrington Stanley to gee the crowds up, after doing the same at Burnley.
