It has to be international if there is more than one nation involved. And the man in the picture seems not to be a citizen of the country in which the crimes were commited.

ya just never know blazey, FEAR can be a powerful motivater.;)

And if a crime involves the Internet, doesn't that make it the province of interpol, as well as that of the law enforcement agencies of the country of citizenship of the accused?

So far as I know, no one has ever challenged this in the courts. And the Canadian Supreme Court has a history of choosing the safety of the public in general over the rights of the individual.

It doesn't happen in the U.K., though there has been a campaign in the media following tragic cases, and inspired by Megan's Law in the U.S., to change the law, so the public are informed of convicted peadophiles living in your neighbourhood.

The News of the World did break the law, in the hope of changing it, by publishing the photographs of convicted child abusers, but that had to be stopped when innocent people who looked like, or had the same name, were attacked by angry mobs.

Do you guys have a national sex offender registry? .... in Canada anyone convicted of sex offences can, on the judge's order, be placed on the registry.

The Mother of Sarah Paine is still trying to get the whereabouts of peados in this country, but as Rindi said the NOTW tried it and people took the law into their own hands. Mind you I've always said that these sickos should just be put in a room for an hour with the relatives of any children they abuse, one thing is for sure after that they woudn't be doing it again in a hurry, they may just be doing an impression of John Wayne Bobbit

Re: Recognise this man?

Did anybody watch the programme 'Am I normal? - sex' ? there are different themes every time this programme is on and the sex one had a paedophile in Amsterdam on it who was trying to explain what he felt should be acceptable in regards to sexual relationships. I personally found it really interesting and wasn't really as disturbed by it as the woman interviewing him. Was quite strange to actually hear those types of opinions come out of the mouth of an admitted paedophile though.

For anyone who didn't watch it, the man said he had never committed any crimes against children, he just thought that certain things should be legalised, which I dont think I can go into detail about in this part of the forum, but it was quite fascinating.
