I always thought councils ran from 1st April - 31 March and so put the fees up on the 1st April. Southwark council wants to put up their crematoriam and burial fees in January to 'maximise' their income. More people die in January than any other month. I think this is disgusting. Its bad enough someone dying. They should stick to the council year rather than trying to make more money out of the bereaved.

Sadly Southwark, like Lambeth Council, is run by the loony left.

Though as mentioned in another post the other day, my old cleaner used to live in Southwark, and was given tins of meat by this council, which she then used to pass on as a gift to me, because she thought it was only fit for dogs.:D

Well bring back the Looney Left then.

Pies made of dog food, plus you could die all year round, with no premium if you popped your clogs at a busy time of year.:D
