Re: New shop open's
Been in and bought some items the staff were very pleasant and helpful. If you think of the store as a "D-I-Y Argos" then you'll be glad of the catalogue at home.
On your 1st purchase you can give your details and then you have a customer number for later use but I don't think that is mandatory (I have been known to be wrong tho LOL :p) |
Re: New shop open's
It has been opened a few weeks, it isnt a walk round store, it is as somebody said, a catalogue shop, you browse the catalogue and order with a form, they take your details and you will get a catalogue every once in a while, they have diy and trade stuff, but if it is plumbing, heating, gas fires, bathrooms, spares for heating and fires, then james hargreaves and hecas in front of screwfix will be comparible on quality and price, the first couple of times I used screwfix, they didnt have the items in stock, but recently seem to have sorted it out, they have 12000 lines in stock, from the massive stock catalogue, which still leaves a fair shortfall, but they are definately good for the diy market.

Re: New shop open's
Screwfix is part of the Kingfisher Group.
The store in Electricty St has been there for some time, bit out of the way for the home DIYer to know of it. All the local tradesmen were sent flyers when it opened. Retlaw |

Digressing a little, but also noticed this week a new bathroom shop at the bottom of Peel Street was preparing to open.
