It is outrageous how much we're being taxed, and for what? Money is being funnelled in to the public sector, but are there any results? No. Just Waste, waste, waste.

It gets worse, Brown has increased the burden on local councils over the last 11 years. Giving them more responsibilities but not enough money to fund it. This means all the councils, be it Labour, Conservative or Lib Dem have to increase their tax, increase the burden on the tax payer. You can have a safe bet on no reductions being made on national tax even though they are doing less.

The problem is even with all this taxation the books are very tight, so it appears there's not much room for manoeuvre if a Conservative government were to come into place.

The same firm that introduced the poll tax, which in my case was ten times the sum my rates were, dont suppose this made much of a contribution to the hike?

Unfortunately Derek that was 18 years ago, this report was about the last 10 years under a Labour Government, the same government led by TB who said before elected that he come not see having to increase taxes. Its rather surprising that the usuall suspects have not contributed to this thread, maybe they can't defend the indefensible:rolleyes:

Well the money for all the PFI deals has to come from somewhere!

In order to become a Airline Pilot I had to study bloody hard for a number of years (5), spending my own money (lots of it) on training (as the goverment won't subsidise flight training in any way), spending lots of time away from my loved ones, all for what, so I can pay lots of lovely tax to look after those who could not give a damn about work and have decided to breed like rabbits (lucky buggers), get paid to drink (as long as they say they are alcholoic), get a almost free car on Mobillity (I know there are genuine people out there, but there also is a damned lot of fakers) and smoke instead.
You know what, I've been doing it wrong, where do I sign on!:hidewall:
