Just seen on sky news that an 8 yr old girl strapped with a remote control bomb, has killed a soldier.I cannot believe how low these people will go, the girl probably didn't even know what the thing was.

I think that put's all the small things we gripe about into prespective.
Whatever the reason for stooping so low as to use an eight year old child in such a way strikes horror in all people's of the world.
There should be no mercy for the animals guilty of this murder.

To what extent should a people go in order to throw out an invader? Agreed this is a terrible and horrifying way to fight; but I think something like this obscures the point that all this would not be happening if GWB had not had a hard on for invading someone ... to the point that, along with Blair, he manufactured a causus belli ... the weopons of mass destruction. The truly sad thing is that in Iraq we have long since passed the point of no return; even if the occupying forces were to leave tomorrow, they have managed to screw up the country to such an extent, that horror stories like these will be coming out of that part of the world for a long time.

OMG! That is awful! The girl involved must have known the bomb was planted on her! She was probably brain-washed like all the other suicide bombers.

I hope the British Government also have a very serious enquiry into why and who was responsible for this childs death.
I think our troops should, and to my mind have always adhered to the Geneva Convention.......If a serviceman is faced with a life threatening situation..........they should be able to quell the situation by whatever means possible..........I was taught very early in my army career...look for the one who is causing the most trouble and is armed...he is the enemy.
Bring him down.
Our lads are out in the most volatile countries in the world...not their choice...and should be backed by both the government and the people of the UK.
I refer to the man who was alledged to have died at the hands of British Forces:

Will we ever know what situation at the time these lads were in and what had gone on...I doubt it.
Cut the crap...this is war and whatever the outcome we want our lads and lasses home and safe.

Anyway the story has changed and the girl beleived to be 16 yr old. That would suggest she knew what she was doing.

13 - 16 does it matter..this is a child who has commited a very serious offence and it should be held as a war crime.

Nope ... don't agree with this one .... to say that someone else is brainwashed is to ignore that we too are locked inside an ideology. We have deeply held beliefs, the bad guys are brainwashed. I'm not saying that I agree with the act; but to write it off as "brainwashing", whatever that is, is to trivialize and oversimplify a complex issue. And it is dangerous. In the 1930s, many saw the Nazis as posturing clowns, not to be taken seriously ... a sort of lunatic fringe who would go away eventually. And go away they did, all it took was tens of millions of deaths.

I believe that Islamic extremism is the greatest threat to world peace to come along in quite some time ... if it is not dealt with in time ... well you get the picture. But this it too much of a wander.

OMG This is just awful and another terrible insight into the dangers our lads and lasses are exposed to.
They always look after the young out there and now through some scumbags that just dont give a damn our lads will now maybe have to put a distance between them and the poor innocents of this awful war.

It was reported this morning that the girl was about 8 years old and that the bomb was detonated by remote control, so the girl may not have known that she had the bomb on her, these people are worse than animals:mad:
