I would love to know..... I know if Jacks having a tantrum n i walk off pretending to leave him (usually i stand round a corner and watch him) LOADS of people suddenly panic when he calms down that he has been left or his lost....why did no-one think it was weird that this lad was walking on his own? How did he get on TWO buses? |

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
i suppose the driver would just assume he was with someone else that was getting on the bus or the drivers didnt see him.....
|
Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
The bus was probably returning to Blackburn anyway, and he just stayed on. Although I thought that bus drivers checked there buses on a regular basis. Still odd that the driver didnt notice him all that way!
Glad he's been found safe and well though. |

its nice to hear some good news.:)

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
Thats scary! It is easy to lose track of children when shopping, I have had the misfortune to do it twice in 19 years, they were quickly found, but it is worrying.

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
Aaah bless him, suppose wouldn't have happened if they brough conductors back (or inspectors like Royboy).
When I went to Blackpool the other weekend with Mez and the gang, we caught the tram and there were three conductors on it. They helped get people off the tram and were jovial and polite .. was impressed. |

It would be very easy for a driver to miss the child if he was sat down all the way..........he can't see his head therefore he can't see him. |
Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
it was a very weird experience, was in town when the lad went missing, but didn't know at the time... back at work, we heard the helicopter flying overhead and have to say its the first time I have heard announcements made from a helicopter. It was hovering over the town centre announcing the little lad had gone missing and what he looked like and was wearing...very pro-active on the police's part I must admit. I was racking my brain if I had seen a small boy go past me when I was down there but couldn't remember seeing anything...
Just glad he was found... in defence of the bus driver, if the little lad walked on behind an adult he would've presumed he was with them, it is more on the bus I think it is strange that no one commented on who the lad was with!!! |
Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
Emily is nearly 3 and I can't imagine her sitting still on a bus on her own and not being noticed? Children of that age don't have a long concentration span. I am so surprised (& relieved) that he was not involved in an accident or he was not upset and confused at some point?

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
my reasoning is when a nippers out with only 1 adult, then as harwood red says, ya take yer eyes off em for a second n they can nip off, too much traffic these days n too many bad buggers about. if out with 2 not a problem 1 can always hold its hand.

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
Omg if this child has travelled on a bus on his own how the hell hasnt a member of public suspected something, or are we now a country that walks around with our eyes closed? this really beggers belief .
As for reins mums dont see them as trendy these days. Its much better to have baby in a hoody and baseball cap than to keep it in reins |

Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
All mine wore reins when they could walk and didnt want the pram anymore.
It was a damn site better than running around the supermarket for them or running up the road. I had to go down to the council office the other day and a dad was at the desk and his little girl were running all over the place , she were only about 3yrs and the doors were wide open leading onto a busy road and the child kept running to the door. I cringed. Not to mention all the completer strangers that were in there that could have had her a way in seconds. Oh and just for the record i wasnt referring to all mums.:D |
Re: Hunt On For Missing Toddler
I'm just glad my kids are all grown up, it must be a nightmare this day and age, with parents having to be more vigilant today than ever before:(
