On Saturday, Mr Bardsley described how he pushed a youth away before grabbing Pc Regan and pulling him down the street.
The father-of-one, from Openshaw, Greater Manchester had just left an internet cafe in Newton Street when the violence broke out.
He said he saw a man running towards Pc Regan "aiming a kick" and jumped into action.

who said it was a rangers fan ?

and this guy is a super hero is he not? - saving that policeman, pulling a footy fan from a canal with a bit of rope (where did he get the rope?) and carrying someone on his back for 150 yards to a waiting ambulance...all in the same night... I wonder if he has a cape..fook me they should send him to china - he would burrow through that rubble in 25 mins..

and mani what have you got against rangers fans ? thats 2 threads you've now started about them - both slightly innacurate - the first being the 10,000 fans who were a disgrace - wrong as it wasnt 10,000 - out of that crowd a few hundred - and now this...? who all said it was a rangers fan who helped the policeman ?

The policeman himself, in an interview the following day made the assumption that it was a Rangers fan. It seemed to be the first conclusion he came to when asked.

Think it was just a case of the bloke being surrounded by Rangers fans, he jumped to the conclusion that one of them came to his aid. He was probably still trying to gather his thoughts from the night before. Now he knows differently.

It's just a pity that the riot had to happen.........everything went so well during the match, then it all had to kick off later.

It is about time everyone started condemning Ranger fans and started looking at the all ethos of this so called sport

This evenings news was carrying a story of football fans taking out over priced loans to go and watch some game in Russia or somewhere. How ridiculous. These men should get jobs, and realise that their so call teams are laughing all the way to the bank at their exp0en se.

I presume your not a football fan? if not then there is no point in trying to explain what this means to some people - and dont you think that the rangers fans have already been condemned ???
