nowcards

regarding the use of the nowcard, myself and my parner both have diabled nowcards, on boarding a coach this morning the driver, asked for the fare as disabled cards dont count for the free fare unless you are over 60, now is this a case of discrimination against the disabled, up to now we got free fares.

Re: nowcards

I suspect that you tried to use a disabled Nowcard on the coast bus which is not in the Nowcard scheme yet (but will be soon - pigs might fly too)
That bus operator is running at a loss whilst LCC decide, and only last weekend the bus company owner decided that the free month concession could be applied to pensioners only - because that is what P Britcliffe specified.

PS I used to have a disabled card but now have a pensioner card because for normal bus use there is no difference

Monday running only started at the beginning of May - it never was a popular day to go - other days there are often only a few seats left.
IF it is successful at gaining Nowcard status I can forsee having to get on in Clayton to ensure a seat this summer.

What is a Nowcard and who qualifies for it?
Is it means tested?

Good news Tosh - even though it will only have effect for 10 more days.
Last summer, when it was £1, it was full on reaching Ossy quite a few times

Maybe they have corrected the discrimination against non disabled.

If that is the case I think the bus company should limit the number of free Now card passengers to allow fare paying passengers to also make use of the service.

How can a trip from Accy to Blackpool be classed as local travel? I agree with free local travel to help pensioners get into town to shop but not for free trips to Blackpool.
