I do wish they would stop using terrorism as an excuse to scare people into accepting these Orwellian state ideas.

It specificly states '12 major routes'. Do they really think terrorists will take those routes if they don't want to be found?

and thats not all.....

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...316520,00.html

I used to call this government Stalin-ism with a smiley face. But now that Uncle Gordon is in, and doesnt smile, then its just Stalin-ism. All we need now is the thought police, the ministry of love, truth and peace and we're all set - Im just waiting for my blue boiler suit now......

Re: Big Brother IS watching you

Just to add to the Orwellian theme, it has been reported today that the government is taking steps to record and store for 12 months all phone calls and emails. I assume that they mean all phone calls and emails made and received in the UK.

In anticipation of such an event my email signature reads and has done for several years:-
Oy! Copper, Spook, Echelon or anyone except the addressee! Why are you reading my mail? It wasn't sent to you and it's got nothing to do with you so go and play at spies somewhere else.

This email will self destruct in 5 seconds .... 4 .... 3 .... 2 .... 1 ....
Only kidding!!”

i agree completely with cctv... last year a violent ex boyfriend who wouldnt accept that i didnt want to be with him waited for me at the bus stop that he knew i would go to at that time because i wouldnt let him into my house... thanks to cctv the police saw what he was doing and 3 police cars turned up. I managed to get away with a few bruises which was much worse than what he was threatening and had evidence of the attack..

Aldous Huxley's 'Brave New World' published 1932.
George Orwell's '1984' published 1949.
Both gave visions of a grim future.

It transpires that Orwell arranged for Huxley to be sent a copy of his book, and recently a letter has surfaced which Huxley sent to Orwell in which he commented on it.

You can read the letter here
Letters of Note: 1984 v. Brave New World

A cartoon has been drawn to illustrate the main differences between their visions of future.
You will find it here (need to 'expand +' to read it)
http://www.recombinantrecords.net/im...s-to-Death.png

It seems that both versions of 'future' were right to some extent.
