Wynsors World Of Shoes

Just nipped in to buy Reece a couple of pairs of cheap trainers for knocking about in (its a 2 minute walk from my house)

i came out with.....

2 pairs of trainers for Reece
1 pair of trainers for myself
1 drawstring adidas predator bag (for September for Reece)

and the grand total came to......

£15.95

hows that for a bargain?

yes the trainers for Reece where only £4.95 each but i gave up buying him expensive trainers when his nike ones only lasted him 2 weeks, these will last him until August hopefully, then i will go back to buying him some expensive ones for School in September, i bought myself some black Penn trainers and they where in the sale for £3 and the drawstring bag was £3.95

yes i hear you saying 'well that comes to more than £15.95', but if you take an OAP in with you and make them pay for it they get a 10% discount Monday-Thursday :D oh how i love day release :D

oh and my daddy of course ;)

So now you've got some trainers flashy we can take it that you'll be entering the London Marathon next year:D seriously you can't beat that can you

flashy 21-05-2008 09:26

Re: Wynsors World Of Shoes

i dont think i'd be able to do a marathon in a pair of £3 tainers jay ;)
but seriously you can go into town and buy a cheapo pair of trainers for a tenner, these trainers arent bad looking for the price and i know Reece will like them, i wouldnt go out and buy him some that looked too cheap if you know what i mean

The last thing I bought from there was some school shoes and they fell in bits within a week! Now I have some more sturdy school shoes as I do lots of walking.

Sorry cashy my old mate Knuzden may have a Blackburn post code, but its in the Borough of Hyndburn and part of Ossy, three of Ossies councillors represent Knuzden which is part of St. Oswalds Ward as is Belthorn also:p

Only part of Belthorn is Hyndburn - depends on which side of the road you live on.
I know that because I lived there from 1972 -79

Richard and i had a wander over to the signs earlier, at the time i am stood in Blackburn facing Wynsors with the sign for Ossy clearly infront of me and Wynsors behind it, on the next one i turned around and had the Blackburn sign infront of me, there is about 40 yards between these signs, so i was stood in no mans land lol WYNSORS IS DEFINATELY IN OSWALDTWISTLE :D

oh and ignore the very strange guy stood in the corner of the pics, thats just Richard

I can see from Flashy's pics that it would appear that Wynsors is in Oswaldtwistle.

The Mother Redcap which is just further along the road on the opposite side is classed as being in Rishton.

How does that work then?

Ps Sorry for thread wander.:)

flashy 23-05-2008 08:53

Re: Wynsors World Of Shoes

old mother redcap in Rishton? how does that work then? and where the hell do i live? unless it dates back to before the motorway was there, then yes it is understandably Rishton, if you stand at the redcap and look across all the fields then you can see Rishton, thats probably what it is, maybe the bounderies where different before the m65 was done

I think you may find tht Blackburn Road is the boundry flashy, haven't seen a map which shows the boundry lines for a while, but it does stand to reason

flashy 23-05-2008 11:31

Re: Wynsors World Of Shoes

ah but where does Blackburn Road end and Accrington Road begin? there are no road signs for Accy road anywhere near the redcap, the last one i know is at the end of Peronne crescent (just past intack traffic lights on your left heading towards accy)showing that on the hill bit its actually accy road, and i dont recall seeing a sign for Blackburn road until you get past church traffic lights....so hmmmm another interesting one for ya Jay ;) :D

I love going to Wynsors World Shoes.

The last time I bought shoes from there was almost a year ago, and they're still going strong.

I am quite lucky depends on the way you look at it, I have size 5 feet and can get away with buying kids shoes and paying kids prices.

Shurmers street guide, and plans show Windsor as being in the borough of Hyndburn. The boundry of Blegburn being 1/2 way between Windsor, and Intack traffic lights.

I read somewhere that Shurmer put some deliberate mistakes in his maps so that he would know when they had been used without his consent.

He did Magaret, but they were street names, having to know the area like we did, I rang Adrian about some of those names, he said it was to catch plagarists, which he did.
