Re: diesel

Any of you guys who live in burnley and run diesel cars can buy bio diesel from Dexters
paints near Mcdonalds next to the shell garage it is only £1.08 per litre and if you have storage facilities you can buy 1000 litres at 88p a litre the price is inclusive of all duty and it is better for your car than normal diesel as it not only is filtered purer than diesel it actually cleans all the fuel pipes it superb in my diesel estate!!

Someone has been reading all the bumf on Bio and believed it. My car, Ford Mondeo diesel actually states in the hand book not to use Bio.

As far as cleaning out your fuel pipes, where do you think all the deposits cleaned off your pipes ends up? Yes you guessed it, it blocks up your fuel filter.

I ran on it for a long time and found it ok, less power on the motorway but quieter and smother at low speed. It is ok in an old car that owes you nothing but would you want to risk it in a new £20k motor?

Re: diesel

But yours is a £2K one mate so should be fine by your reckoning! :D

Plus once a line is 'clean' the filter can be changed(as its done its job) and a nice shiny new one in which should last longer than teh specified period as there is by definition less crap in the fuel/line :D

I can actually see teh value of 'old' uncomplicated diesel cars go up as people buy them and run shop bought veg oil in them as teh price of shiny new diesel goes ever higher.

Re: diesel

I started a thread myself about Bio Diesel as i was gonna use it but after the replies and upon further investigation i decided not to although buying an old diesel for the sole use of bio fuels is a great idea.

Re: diesel

i just rang my dealership up and they backed up what i read on the internet about bio-diesel

the machanic said that from the ammount of cars he has seen come back with major problems he would not recomend using bio-diesel

my car is a 05 plate

its not just a matter of changing filters , other parts get effected too and can cost big time to fix

however i found this
Quote:

Peugeot now officially recommends no more than 30% biodiesel in the fuels. Noted potential points of failure are the plastic manifold and the particle filter.
i am not sure though if that means you can fill up %30 bio and the rest in normal diesel

i may just buy an old landrover and run it on chip fat :D

there is a safe way for your car to run cheap diesel

1: simply cut the fuel line of a total strangers car and drain the tank into your own container

2: insert stolen fuel into your car

3: your car will now run on cheaper fuel just as well as the fuel you buy at petrol stations

4: if caught in the act expect severe ass kicking and allow 2 to 3 weeks for recovery
