£250k for hurt feelings
 

x-Para Jan Hamilton, who has undergone a sex swap operation, has been awarded £250,000 for hurt feelings after being made to wear a male uniform for a medical. Yet Marine Mark Ormerod who lost both legs and and his right arm in a land mine blast in Afghanistan, was offered £36,000 less, what price hurt feelings against the devestating injuries recieved serving your country, seems there's something very wrong here:(

the M.O.D has got the last laugh though , they have let him wear a dress and high heels but his new job is as a landmine tester

Probably needs the money to pay for the surgery.......but seriously he must have known what the consequences would be after the surgery (which he chose to have, or was he super naive ) I don't think so, just another chance for some one to screw the system, and take money that rightfully belongs to the soldiers injured doing their duty, some of them horribly disfigured and disabled.

I agree that the payout is ridiculous, for her to get more than someone that was injured serving their country and had had their quality of life reduced BUT i agree that a female officer shouldnt be made to wear a male uniform...... what if the doctor had made a male officer wear a female uniform?? would that not be degrading to the officer? same difference imo...

just to point out... yes i know i refered to the officer as a her..
