Thought of the day

As you do when you are sat on your own thinking!!

I got to thinking. Why, in this day and age of technology, don't the police have a Facility where the general public can Bluetooth things to the police station??
This way, anyone concerned with BACK LASH by reporting things can remain anonymous.

I think it would encourage more kids to report things this way too. Like kids that record happy slapping and things like that.

That way, the police would have good chance of catching
the people responsible, they would have video evidence.
All you would need to do is, go outside the police station and Blue tooth your video to the police station!! I think it would work well with anti - social behaviour on the streets/neighbourhood too.

Maybe it would work?? maybe it wouldn't!!

So that is my thought of the day haha

What do you think?? would it work, or wouldn't it??

I think it's a great idea, apart from having to go outside the police station to do it
This is obviously a flaw on bluetooth's part not your idea:D

Re: Thought of the day

blue tooth only works very short range and also takes a long time to send somting like a video file

poor sod would probably get done for loitering outside a police station lol

would be interesting to see what the police would call their bluetooth device though

It's a good idea, if only you didn't have to go and stand outside the police station to do it.

This is where the idea won't work, in my opinion.

All those people hanging about outside the police station faffing about with their phones......anyone passing would soon know what they were up to. You're safer phoning from the privacy of your own home.....no guarantee of a speedy response so I'm told but safer. :D

Hmmm I can understand that Lilly, but their must be a way to over come that minor glitch. It wouldn't be so bad if you could sit in your car and just Blue tooth it.

That give me something else to think about now :D How we get round that!! haha

Its all well and god thinking you are anonymous to the police.
They won't let you be anonimous, they have ways of tracing all calls back to their origin, unlisted phone number means nothing.

I reported a crime to them some time back, and the stupid buggers revealed to the culprits who had shoppped them.

NEVER again.

Most phones have a Blue tooth facility on them. When you take a pic/music/video etc ... You can send these files from your phones Blue tooth to other Blue tooth devices, Blue tooth on Computers/ other phones etc ... and its free to Blue tooth.

Personally i think you should take this further....if you report something you should never feel like it could be revealed it was you, otherwise it will get to the stage where people are frightened of reporting offences :(

I have made 2 statements, one was about a robbery and the other an alleged rape... a few weeks after the rape statement the guy wrote to me from prison, he had got my name and address from the statement and the robbery was done by a known drug addict and his family turned up at my house.... statements are not anonymous!!

Most people are Kitty!! I have asked police not to call at my house when I have reported things in my neighbourhood... guess what!! they still call.

That is why, I think this Blue tooth thing would be good. But it would have to be on a anon basis. And I know they can do it, look at things like Crime watch and Crime stoppers!! Anything that makes the public more at ease of reporting crimes has to be a step in the right direction!!
