Nuisance motorbikes

Does anybody else have a problem with these annoying numb-brains? There are at least two individuals who regularly roar back and forth here in Church for no reason than to just irritate everybody - one was doing it at 1.50am last week!!
No tax, no insurance, probably no license, no helmet, thinking they have the right to ride on the pavement and with a complete disregard to other road users and pedestrians.
Call the police we are continually told but the problem still persists

So, how big of a problem is this nuisance within Hyndburn? Are these inconsiderates ruining your peace and quiet (either during the day or at night)? What can WE do about it?

Maybe if we can isolate repeat hotspots then the authorities may get an idea on how to stop the problem.

By the sound of it I think one had moved up to a car last night - screeching wheels and over revving of engines. I only want a decent nights sleep!!

Re: Nuisance motorbikes

If you live near Henry St the traffic noise is there 24/7.
I recall that a noisy motorbike went through Church very early morning every day.
There is no solution - do as I did - move out as soon as you can

Keep reporting it to the Police, can't think of anything else you can do.

My Fiance told me about how some lad, a few years back, was messing on a Moped up Church, riding on the slim paths on a housing estate. He tried to drive round my Fiance and ended up falling over. He blamed my fiance 'for getting in the way' and gave him a good hiding!
They are a bloody nuisance

Re: Nuisance motorbikes

The police have been impounding illegal bikes.
On the football field near me, we were 'oined' by -
trial bikes, mini motos, quad bikes, on a daily basis but not at night thankfully.
That nuisance has dramatically reduced lately

the ones with no helmets and leathers are idiots, they deserve to fall off. It annoys me cos these idiots give proper bikers a bad name!

I actually live about as far from Henry Street as it may be possible and I wouldn't complain if it was general traffic would I?
Did think of hiding in the alley and jumping out at them to make 'em fall off!! :D

Chuck some tacks in the road when you are going to bed:)

I can't believe people are suggesting or backing up suggestions like fishing wire. Do you have any idea what that actually does to teh riders? you might feel pee'd off with noise but to effectively talk about murder is disgusting.

You should also remember that bridleways and a lot of pathways are legal rights of way that can be ridden leagally on a legal machine.

Bikers are not the ills of this situation, inconsiderate low lifes(90% of which wouldn't know what to do with a proper bike on teh roads) are and you should just use the law to deal with them.

What were they going to do with the fishing wire?

Re: Nuisance motorbikes

They string it across pathways so riders are pulled off. The problem is it rides up the body and arms to the neck and garrotts the rider. I've seen the aftermath of it and its not pretty.

EH?
Taking your points in order:
1) I think anybody on here would be likely to have the common sense to NOT do anything other than keep contacting the police over this matter. For you to even think that anybody would - well, least said.
2) Who mentioned bridleways?? I am talking about roadside footpaths and footpaths through open areas which are NOT vehicular RoW's. As far as I am aware NO footpath can be ridden on by a motorised machine of any sort - hence the term FOOTpath.
3) Nobody mentioned Bikers - if you read the original post as follows:

You used the term low-lifes, I just called them annoying numb-brains and inconsiderates, but no mention of Bikers by myself.
As I'm knocking on 40 I sure as hell know what the law is as to what's right and wrong. The purpose of this thread was to see how big a problem this was within Hyndburn and to see if, through combining relevant information, the people of this fair Borough could reclaim their streets from these nuisance individuals and thus make it safer for us all to walk the streets and just maybe GET A DECENT NIGHT'S SLEEP!!!!!!!!

LOL, i cant believe some people took my comment seriously, do ya honestly think i would use it?

ya nutters;)
sorry for being witty, next time I will be sure to stop being in a witty mood when i come on here;)

On a serious note....i thought it was illegal for these bikes to be ridden?....I am thinking they are riding the mini type ones?

Not been troubled by them much here but the thing that does get annoying is the cars with the booming bass noises coming out of the boot.

Must be the same inconsiderates who keep me awake until the early hours.Nothing beats having to get up at 4am on a Monday only to have some plank reving his motor or riding said motorbikes after midnight & into the early hours on a Sunday.I've noticed it occurs more often when the weathers been nice too.Would'nt surprise me if these idiots have'nt had a few beers during the day as well.

What area of Hyndburn are you in Maxwell??

I just heard that there may be a problem in the Banbury Close area of Ossy too so it definitely isn't just Church.
