Tate Gallery
With all the arty people on here I wonder why know one has mentioned the graffiti which now adorns the outside of the Tate Modern in London. It seems the gallery have commissioned street artists to do the work which will be cleaned of after 3 months. Although I can't say I'm a fan of graffiti or the people who do it, but the coverage I have seen makes a refreshing change to a very drab building

Re: Tate Gallery
Thankfully it's the Tate Modern Gallery, and not the original Tate Gallery, at Millbank.
It looks ok, and at least it's getting them a lot of press. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/arts/a...iewId=23486809 |
Re: Tate Gallery
BBC video report on the 'exhibition'.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7419861.stm Personally I think it's a bit old hat, by about twenty five years, and am glad that at least it will be cleaned off this listed building when it's finished. |
Re: Tate Gallery
Good looking buildings don't need it and it spoils them.
Any legal grafitti encourages the illegal stuff - is not art in my opinion. |

Yep saw it on the BBC News last night and looked okay, might even persuade a few of the younger generation to go along:)

Re: Tate Gallery
I am a big art fan and think its good to have different branches of art in the gallery. If you dont like it go to the national gallery and look around there instead.
