Thankfully no power cuts here.

Though the last time we had one was just before the earthquake, so it might be wise to batten down the hatches.:D

Well aren't you the lucky one? the grid outside my house hasn't been changed in years in fact it's so choked with soil the little oak sapling growing from it would be about six foot tall if it wasn't kept in the shade by the neighbours car parked over the top of it! :D

No power cut here!! Thank god!!! The last power cut we had about 4 weeks ago lastd 25 hours, what a nightmare it was.

Re: Power Cut

Nothing in Darwen.

In fact the last time that we had a power cut was years ago one summer evening. It was the one evening where neighbours talked to each other.

Re: Power Cut

I'm such a klutz.

Got up this morning, had my array of coloured tablets, switched on the kettle, and popped the bread in the toaster.

Everything went off.

Still groggy until the drugs kick in, I checked the fuse box, and everything looked ok.

Power cut thought I.

No coffee, no toast, no radio or computer, no landline, no hot water.

Managed to find some matches to light the cooker, and boil a pan of water, and toast my fruit loaf.

Reread the Sunday papers, even the boring sections I normally leave out.

Three hours later decide to get a cold wash, and get dressed.

Pop next door.

Lights on, radio blazing.

Panic now, realising it's just me with no electicity.

Old lady turns up with a plate meat pie, and an apple pie, as she does every alternate Wednesday.

Put pan of water back on to make her a cup of tea.

Have another look at fuse box.

Turn one switch that I don't know the purpose of.

Radio, kettle, lights all come back to life.

Miffed at wasting three hours....but happy I wasn't still sat here in darkness tonight.

:D

You might consider yourself as having the gift to laugh at yourself, before you laugh at the misfortune of others but you also have the gift of selective memory.

So you weren’t one of those who took the mickey out of Heather McCartney because of her prosthetic leg?

We are co-winners of a highly sought after Accy Web award.

I would be very interested to learn just exactly where in that thread you mentioned Parkinson’s Disease.

Your only post before post 10 was post 6 and the nearest that you got to mentioning Parkinson’s Disease is the capital letter P in Phil.:tongueout

You’ve finally been rumbled for the hypocrite that you are and you are trying to wriggle out of it and all you can resort to is a bit of name calling and trying to pour scorn on my web site like some 5 years old kid.:rofl38::rofl38::rofl38:

Now go away and get your nappy changed.:dummy2:

Perhaps my humour is just too subtle for you.

I've made numerous reference to my career options now being limited to playing the tambourine, plus some more adult jibes in the over eighteens section of the forum.;)

As stated earlier a fuller description, regarding a sense of humour, can be found in any dictionary.

Anyway, you're last year's Cynthia to my Hylda Baker. I really need to find a funnier stooge now, for this year's competition.:D

"Now go away and get your nappy changed".

That is in very bad taste since we know Parkinsons eventually causes incontinence.

Perhaps the response to you should be 'get a battery recharge for you brain cells'
since you are displaying the early signs of Dementia

Still sidestepping questions I notice.

Those that are two awkward to answer that is. Those that would prove conclusively that half the time you haven’t a clue what you are writing about and it would be a real climb down to admit it.

No one likes to lose face but which of your two faces would you lose?

You can have the last word on this issue.

Forum etiquette prevents me from responding.

Just imagine the worst and double it.

To you I must be in an enviable position. Not only at being able to laugh at myself, but in actually saying what I mean.

I'm sorry if you've wasted an afternoon, searching through 15,000 and odd of my posts, looking for references to Parkinson's. If you'd have read them all, rather than using the search facility, you would have seen I've made numerous comic reference to my illness. Happily I have no reason to lie.

Since you are no longer need by myself, perhaps you could team up with one of your cronies, in the hope of winning another Accy Web award next year.

You could be a sort of modern day Whinge and Bracket, and I'd willing you loan you my Granny's pearls.

I'd have thought it was rewarding, bringing joy and laughter to someone.

'Hi, I'm Jim.'

'Hi, it's Jim'.

Gets me every time.

Especially now that the likes of Frankie Howerd isn't on the television much.
