At least it didn't end up an honour killing

A report on the Times on-line news website relates a story about a French court annulling a marriage between a muslim couple because the wife wasn't a virgin
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle4034908.ece

This is one wedding I think where it would have been good to be a guest, just to see the reactions of the two families when sheet from the marriage bed showed no signs of 'de-flowerment' .

You Europeans have some funny laws :D :D :D

It is time these people entered the real world. Wonder if the groom was a virgin:rolleyes:

She must have known that would happen. Odd that she went through with it.

LOL .. think we on the same wavelength here Bernie, was just going to post summat similar .. trouble is ... no way of telling is there ?I suspect not, don't you ? Hypocritical so-and-so's (note polite euphomism :D) and in my mind is a sort of sexual perversion on part of mail ego's.

I think the tradition is strange, because not all women bleed when they have sex for the first time anyway

Think they would make the excuse that they have to practice so as not to disappoint their virgin bride... but who do they practice on I wonder ? ... de-flowering some other unfortunate good muslim girl ?

Come on Steeljack.........That was a French Court.
How was the evidence produced?
Was he up to his job?

The UK people have not agreed to a Republic yet.......and so may it continue.......The law is an ass in whatever country....It keeps our lear'ned bretheren in Corn Flakes..........or Frogs Legs in this case.

I think if you ask the man on the street in the UK 'Are you European?' he would reply 'Sod off I'm from Ossy' or what other expletive he cared to use, depending on where in the UK he or she came from.
Were not all daft who slaver comes to mind.

there are ways to fake viginity... I'm pretty sure the sheet isnt dna tested to make sure its real blood, also if the wedding is timed to coincide with the womans period there will be blood... im sure i have read about things you can insert to give the illusion of blood, soaked sponges etc.. why did she not try any of these? she must have known there would be conciquences. If the hymen was broken for a medical reason and you need to be a virgin to be married i think you can get a certificate from a doctor to prove it, bet these are available on the internet or easily fakeable, in fact i think i could knock one up if any one needs one?

*I apologise for any offence my post may cause but it is within the context of the thread*

I don't think this is about French law at all........Is is the Muslim influence on countries like ours who bend the rules.......and the laws....to please and pacify

Sounding like she didn't want the marriage if there are ways to disguise the fact that she wasn't a virgin;)
