drug mum

did any one read in the sun on Saturday, about the woman that was on harrowin and one of her children died, and a baby is having withdraw symptoms and she is pregnant again?

Re: drug mum

i'm sure they will be under some sort of supervision order, heroin is a nasty thing to get addicted to but unfortunately it takes over some very vulnerable people :(

No, I don't read The Sun.

Like Flashy says, hopefully the children will be under a supervision order.

I lookes after a baby born to a mother on heroin.. the poor little thing was addicted,he was tiny, he screamed constantly, his skin was see through (like a skinned rabbit?? ) and he kept having fits..

i have no idea how a mother could do that to her own child, it was hard enough for me and he wasnt mine.

Re: drug mum

I feel sorry for drug addicts, because instead of being given the help they need they are shunned by society. Women give birth, that is life. Stopping drugs during pregnancy can't really be compared to things like smoking and drinking, yet those things get much more help and attention than things like heroin.

Don't babies get hooked on morphine too if you are weaning the mother off heroin anyway? Have you seen anyone ever go cold turkey from heroin? They get really sickly and cant control their bowels. I saw a man in court once have an 'accident' and throw up during his trial because he had obviously had no drugs in his cell or whatever. Would think that it would be damaging to a baby just as much if the mother just came straight off heroin?

Just a thought anyway. Obviously she shouldnt have got pregnant in that state but these things happen

Once could be accepted as an accident. After that she should have made sure she didn't get pregnant again until she was off drugs.

and also the parents/friends of these people who are robbed /assulted etc to feed their habit, methinks yer sorrow is badly misplaced blazey.

Re: drug mum

OK, I clearly can't win. I don't feel sorry enough for the potentially depressed woman who potentially killed two of her children and left the other on its death bed POTENTIALLY, but I sympathise with the woman who is addicted to a drug and her child died from the natural consequences of its mothers addiction, and I get criticised for that too.

The world is full of sick, messed up people, and whether I sympathise with them or not I am criticised, so I think I'll just leave it at that.

How about we bring back the death penalty and just hang drug addicts though, that'd please a lot of people I'm sure.

Only if, the lawyer representing them can share the same gallows.

As I've already said you can feel as sorry as you want for the addicts, but my sympathies will always lie with the poor innocents that they destroy along with themselves.

Re: drug mum

The difference between this and the woman who possibly has a mental illness and possibly killed her children due to that condition is that such an illness is not her fault and not something which she has obtained by robbing people and funding a criminal empire.Drug addicts are often thieves and the drug trade is a multi million pound criminal empire which leads to millions suffering.

If she's able to inject smack into her veins, she should also be able enough to make sure she isn't going to get pregnant.

Was just going to say that, so very true. The truth of the matter is she is just a selfish individual who doesn't give a toss about anything but herself

she chooses to carry on & not get help then my only sorrow is for the kids not her as they did not have that choice

Re: drug mum

Hmm well in my experience drug addicts are very sad people indeed and I find it really annoying how people blame drug addicts for how they have ended up. Many people suffering from depression turn to drugs as a last resort thinking it might make them better, and the next thing they know they cant live without it.

The phrase 'most drug users are thieves' is ridiculous. Plenty of drug users are on high wages in respectable jobs. People resort to drugs to deal with their problems, so you see many are indeed at the low end of wealth and need to steal and whatever to get their drugs, but just as many are high earners in well respected jobs.

It is the dealers that don't seem to take enough blame for these things happening. Only problem is that they are happy enough living off their dirty money to need drugs themselves, and too rich off the business for you to notice them in the street, and they aren't the ones directly causing you problems so why care.

Re: drug mum

sorry but drug users do NOT get my sympathy im afraid!

A lot of people get depressed, but they dont resort to drugs, especially the type ya inject!

I have no time for them sort of people.
