Brit Guilty

The British man Neil Entwistle has been found guilty of murdering his wife and daughter in Massachusetts in 2006, he will be sentanced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Say what you like about American jusice system, but thy do get things right when it comes to making the punishment fit the crime, if only we did that in his country.

Quite right, so could any representatives of the Labour and Tory parties come on here and explain why we can't have "life means life" sentences for murders of this type in the UK?

I think that political parties are hog tied by antiquated laws which were written for the 19th century, we only have to look at the murder case which has collapsed at the Old Bailley this week, plus there is always the good old European Human Rites Act as well to contend with, which basically gives the offender more rites than the offended. I've said it before its time our laws were burnt on a bonfire on the green outside parliament and lets start again, and while we're at it put the judges on the fire as well, then we may just have a chance of making the punishment fit the crime

judges can only work within the maximum n minimum sentence allowed fer any crime, whilst there are doddering owd git judges, it those that need to be addressed. the yanks certainly consider the law abiding public when sending down these people.

He's "fortunate" to have done this horrendous deed in Massachusetts. Many other State's, Virginia included, would have given him the death sentence. IMO, then the punishment would then almost fit the crime. I mean this guy killed 2 innocent people!

The thing is everytime you saw footage of him in court he looked a smarmy git, and it didn't surprise me one little bit that he tried to blame his wife, he just looked that kind of a guy, whats more his parents must be very gullible, they still swear he's innocent, talk about blind love:rolleyes:
