Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
I hope this explains why some of us enjoy being single.
This is an extract from - http://psychologytoday.com/articles/...25-000001.html From the outside, solitude and loneliness look a lot alike. Both are characterized by solitariness. But all resemblance ends at the surface. Loneliness is a negative state, marked by a sense of isolation. One feels that something is missing. It is possible to be with people and still feel lonely—perhaps the most bitter form of loneliness. Solitude is the state of being alone without being lonely. It is a positive and constructive state of engagement with oneself. Solitude is desirable, a state of being alone where you provide yourself wonderful and sufficient company. Solitude is a time that can be used for reflection, inner searching or growth or enjoyment of some kind. Deep reading requires solitude, so does experiencing the beauty of nature. Thinking and creativity usually do too. Solitude suggests peacefulness stemming from a state of inner richness. It is a means of enjoying the quiet and whatever it brings that is satisfying and from which we draw sustenance. It is something we cultivate. Solitude is refreshing; an opportunity to renew ourselves. In other words, it replenishes us. Loneliness is harsh, punishment, a deficiency state, a state of discontent marked by a sense of estrangement, an awareness of excess aloneness. Solitude is something you choose. Loneliness is imposed on you by others. |

Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
I dont have to ask anyone if I can get something, its great (but saying that my moneys normally spent on the boys when I have a bit spare anyway) But as for the single / married thing, I did the marriage and it didnt work out so at the moment I would say that I much prefer the single life, but in saying that my thoughts on this subject may change in years to come

I have to say I like that one. Keetah, I hope you get your desk....there are many times in life I have asked myself the same questions Willow uses.....'No' has come up...and I haven't bought the object of my desires......and frequently I have regretted it. |
Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
and I know this is a wander...but Loz, being married is much like life......there are some good bits and some bad bits......you have to work at it to make it work, but then nothing good comes without some input and sacrifice.....how do I know...well come October, me and the old feller will have been hitched for 42 years.
Good luck for Friday...I wish you both a long and happy married life. |
Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
Well I always get what I want, I argue with myself then deside I'm right and buy it, easy really:D

Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
I don't see the point of the thread, the solution is easy, just buy it, take it home and what can he do?
|
Re: what do you have to do to get what you want?
Polly, the point of the thread was Keetah trying to find out what we as individuals would do to get our own way.....To what lengths would we go?
If you look at threads this way, there are a lot of seemingly pointless threads...but questions get asked....and we, say what we would do in similar situations. |
