Re: NHS report
Two weeks ago I attended an operating unit in Preston to have a cataract removed.
The operating staff were from a private set up called Netcare. The procedure from start to finish, walking in to walking out, was exactly two hours. When the operation was finished I was offered a cup of tea, as was my wife and medication for after care for one month. I was seen by three doctors in that short period and can not fault the system whatsoever. The following morning I received a phone call from a nurse on behalf of netcare to see if everything was all right and who was putting the eyedrops into my eye 4 times a day, when told it would be my wife she was quite satisfied. Netcare is paid by the NHS...I qualify for this treatment as the initial diagnosis was made prior to me moving to Spain and is recognised as ongoing to conclusion. As a pensioner I qualify for free medical treatment in Spain. I have put this rider on because some anon clown gave me a red and said "I would soon be running back to the UK if I needed the NHS" John I'm sorry I didn't know you had been in Hospital....All the best Pal. |

Re: NHS report
The NHS is too top-down and political. The people on the ground understand the problems, and a lot of them understand how they could be fixed. Therefore they are ignored by the powers that be.
Politics affects it with targets, targets, targets. I've had terrible experiences with the NHS. Waited months to see a consultant, err.. registrar, only to be shoved back out the door 5minutes later with medication I'd already tried. Problem not solved, target met. Hope you're feeling ok Jaysay! |
Re: NHS report
The Discharge Unit sounds like somewhere to dump unwanted patients so their beds are free for the next set o inmates. In and out, quick as can be lets not have any nasty patients cluttering up the wards, numbers up patients out!
