You're not losing the plot.

I'm sure many tissues have been snivelled into today. ;)

My eldest is in year 2 so the leavers assembly is a long way off for me.....I can only imagine it.

I was feeling emotional today because my girl finished reception class.....where's my baby gone? She's still only 4.

Goodness knows what I will be like when she actually leaves primary school for good. :)

I'm sure the emotional feeling will wear off after a few days or so.....only to come back on their first day at secondary school, that'll have you blubbing again.

It's over 20 years ago I went to my youngest's last assembly at Primary School but things don't change much do they? The one thing I always noticed was that the children who looked so big, in their last primary year, looked so small in their first year at High School.

I don't know what it's like, now, where you are but our local High School is so big (over 1500 pupils - I think it's far too big) I really feel for the kids who will start in September. My memory's long enough to remember how lost I felt on my first day at Paddock House, all those years ago - 54 years to be precise, and there were less than 200 girls there then. All children starting High School deserve an extra cuddle and a very special tea on their first day. :)

Your not losing the plot. My daughter left her primary school today as well. She had been there for 7 years, having started there in nursery at age 3. But the teachers were like family, and she knew everybody in the school.

She was in tears as she left for the last time today.

It's been an emotional week for us..............school play, leavers assembly and leavers mass.

But the school did make a fuss of them, they got a scroll from this day in history, a copy of the school play on dvd, personal messages to each of them from every teacher in the school.

But she is growing up and is now moving on to High School, which I know that she will love.

But then again, she is my baby being the youngest, and I just think where has time gone?
