Have you ever thought of selling up?

Selling up and moving to Spain is not as difficult as many people might think.
I walked through Darwen on the night we left and thought 'Are we going to miiss this?' the answer has got to be a resounding 'NO'
Tonight along with my Grandson and my wife, have been along to a beach bar no more that 5 minutes from where we live, bit expensive but
less than you pay in Blackpool.
Smoking....No problem...........Children admitted...No problem.
Relax and enjoy without the threat of yobs.
To use the Spanish 'Moy Contento' is what I feel at the moment and i wish that all the problems will be resolved in Lancashire.
The Spanish Police have a way of dealing with yobs....A SMACK IN THE MOUTH.

Think about selling up everyday and currently working towards it.
However you have just put me totally off Spain The one good thing about England over the last year has been the no smoking ban, especially for me as I am asthmatic and was totally sick (literally) of selfish smokers who thought they had a right to pollute everyone else air.
And children - no thank you they are another thing I want to get away from.
Anyway too many Brits in Spain.

You must understand Roy that when some people get dealt a bad hand they don't blame the dealer but the other players.Yes it's sad but true.Still think your paying over the odds for the Rum.

I work with what I have got,do my best and take the blame for my own Idyosyncracies. I'll leave the American spelling to JB and his Port Moresby friends:theband:

If JB knew where Port Moresby was without Google...I would be very surprised.

Re: Have you ever thought of selling up?

I always admired the Italian lifesyle and their climate and diet is ideal for me.
I had a husband who was half italian and we visited his family several times. That marriage ended in disaster
Their politics are a farce, which means that to successfully survive you need to be part of an Italian family unit who put family unity a priority above all else, and who would rally round when needed (and are always underfoot when not needed:D)
To them, being alone is an alien unnatural condition, which I quite enjoy most of the time.
So I suppose I am not temperamentally suited to live there despite all its other advantages.

Mrs H has set her sights on moving to Miraflores, Peru (her hometown) when we retire.

Must admit it quite appeals to me...a nice apartment by the beach, warm weather, a low cost of living, no pussyfooting around with yobs (the Peruvian police just crack a few heads).

Just one thing...it's a heck of a long way to come every two weeks for home matches!
