Just seen a report on the news about the children found alone in the house fire. The thing that I find unbelievable is the mother is under arrest on "SUSPISCION of child abuse/neglect". She is damn well guilty because she left them children alone!!!

Not sure of their ages but there was a tandem pram outside the house. Apparently the neighbours thought it was an empty property

I haven't seen this story yet but 'on suspicion of' is a standard phrase used initially because the accused has not been convicted of a crime.

When they have had a trial and been found guilty then we can say 'guilty' but until then they are only on suspicion.

I notice it doesn't actually say on there that the kids were left alone....we are left to deduce that for ourselves. :rolleyes:

Nor does it say how long they were left for......was it for a week while mum had a ball in Faliraki or maybe she'd only gone up the road for a chippy tea. :confused:

She may have arranged a live in sitter who abandoned them. Police have to use the term 'suspected' until they are sure that that did not happen.
