The council have used an industrial cleaning machine on the flags to remove the chewing gum but it was so industrial it appears to have removed the sand and cement under the flags thus making them unsafe; great !

if thats the case, they should " Bounce" any anti-social git, caught spitting/throwing gum on the ground, if they are caught n make em contribute towards the removal costs.

Well, nothing to do with the chewing gum, but didn't think you meant that... so do you think they have just replaced those flag stones with tarmac because of the cost Cashy ? Maybe it's only temporary ?

Seems a bit strange ...

The pavements are terrible all over town, maybe it would be better and safer to tarmac the lot

Chewing gum is one of my pet hates because I often have to cut it out of my puppy's fur. How come it's ok to spit chewy out and you get fined for stubbing out a ciggie?

My mate has lent me a portable ashtray for my visit in a couple of weeks.....happen I should use Nicorette instead and spit as much as I like.
