Re: Penalised For Being Retired
I had a Leased vehicle for 10 Years and drove on the lease companies insurance so I had to start from square one....That's why it's so expensive.

Re: Penalised For Being Retired
I have resurrected this because my car insurance is due for renewal mid Dec and I have spent most of the day online shopping around for it.
For the past year I have had Saga on monthly payments(at no extra charge for credit)- £117.14 This year they wanted £150.43 which included £11 for credit. I realise that costs have risen but want to shop around so I cancelled the direct debit on my personal banking website so they can't automatically renew me. Today I got a letter from them complaining that they won't be able to collect from me in Dec (cheeky!). Their renewal quote is less than most but I took the trouble to read the small print. If I hadn't cancelled the DD it would have been a right 'rigmarole' and a 2 month wait to get it back. So I am not reinsuring with them because of their attitude. I have found a quote for £114.06 from Bullseye Insurance(part of the Swinton Group) which includes a £50 cashback when taken out via Moneysupermarket . I will have to claim the £50 back by letter within 30 days, and wait two months for the cheque, but worth the effort to get insurance at less than last year. Also, I joined quidco because according to Martin Lewis I could get massive cashback using them, but unfortunately the insurers quidco uses started off with massive premiums which cancelled out the value of the cashback (and it would have been 'rigmarole' getting it.) |
