Fortunately, and to date, the crunch hasnt slowed our workload down, we are watching very closely for changes though, I do know others in the same industry who have felt the pinch though, eon being one of the major ones who have got shut of thier whole installation team as from December.

The only difference it's made to me is that it's every where I look.

The press, television, they're all full of it.

thats exactly what i mean,to me its like somebody telling you (not you personaly) that your not looking well after a while you start doubting it yourself,i think we should all start a rumour that things are looking better and the recesion is lifting, right thats it i'm phoning Fiona on gmtv and telling her that things can only get better:p

I have to agree with Garinda. The only thing I have noticed is that the news is full of it. Quite frankly, it's getting really tedious and I'm sure it's making people more miserable than they normally are.

I suppose I am lucky, I don't have to pay a workforce and there will always be demand for my job. :)

In my opinion, the media have over hyped it all again, and made a messy situation worse, what we should do is stop listening to the news and buying snoozepapers.

Fortunately, both our jobs are safe and Hubs earns enough to keep several wolves from the door. We are luckier than some.

Think the people who are more affected are those who were more well off - cockroaches survive the nuke and all that.

Busy as a busy thing on busy street in busy week at my place

I did 22 hours OT from 5am Sat to 10am Sunday...... :D

as other s have said its teh talk that seems more obvious than anything although Citigroup making 75K redundant is not a good thing for teh south east. TBH I think I just hit teh nail on teh head, whatever is happening down there is what teh papers propagate irrespective of how it is in teh frozen North. They are suffering so we all must be.....

Sadly any down turn affects everyone, not just those greedy banker, who sold sub prime mortgages to those who didn't have a cat in Hell's chance of making the repayements.

Interesting article in yesterday's Sunday Times has meant the situation in Japan has affected car production in the north east of England. It's not only Nissan that feels the brunt, but all the small manufacturing firms who help supply them with parts.

Their job losses, and reduced income, will have a knock on effect in their local communities.
