Payback jackets ... good or bad?

Not sure if this had been posted but couldnt see anything

Seems time has come to sort out offenders on community work by making them wear orange payback jackets, I personally think its a good idea and may do more good than harm, One of the lads interviewed said that most of the offenders he spoke to who had to wear them said they wouldnt re offend.
What do you think?

Are these jackets waterproof and padded? Do they have a hood and nice large pockets? When do you think one of them will appear in a local charity shop 'cos I could do with a new winter coat!

It'll be as popular as any other jacket with a logo soon!

Somebody did mention a while ago in a thread that in thier opinion, we should use bright orange suits like they do in the states, I personally think it is a good idea, who would want to be seen wearing one of those twice?

I totally agree with this idea, its surprising how something that shows these people up can be so productive in stopping re-offending. walking about doing work in the community with a sign on the back saying just why they are doing this unpaid work, won't have dent the egos o some of the feral youths that run amok on our streets, far better than the yobs medal of honour the ASBO

dont think its enough, think "Thief" or "Thug" or whatever offence they commited would deter em even more.

wWell I saw on the news and it really looks set to work. Dont agree though cashy, if they had what crime they had commited it would prob do more harm and become a "my crime is better than yours" bit like the ASBO.

In reality it's not going to happen.. can you imagine a Tory Lord walking around with a big yellow jacket with " I'm a thief, and commited perjury"..stamped on ?

Long overdue.

It’s the modern equivalent of the stocks.

But I suppose that some smart Alec civil rights lawyer will come along waving the civil rights book in the air and it will fizzle out.

I see that we are still getting facetious remarks from the same people in what is a serious subject.

And long may it continue! Just because it's serious doesn't mean there isn't a funny side, there are plenty in this world that just want to be miserable, we don't all have to be like you.
