Proud Preston

It seams that the police in Preston are to crack down on people swearing in public places. The penalty could be a spot fine of £75.
Should raise a few bob.

:rofl38:Nice one Tealeaf.

I don't think it is such a bad idea actually. They have issued posters around town stating 'No effin and blinding' .. well, not sure how you spell that !
Doubt very much whether there will be many fines here, but the threat may help to curb a few people's tongues.

Good job they haven't extended it yet to the football terraces... :D

Would make a fortune if they implemented it on Broadway

Maybe they could stand outside schools they could get loads of mums effin and jeffin there!

I cand seriously see it happening can you! yes it sounds good in theory but in practice maybe they should have better things they should be enforcing.

Sounds similar to what Mayor Giuliani of New York City did.
Quite a good idea

Foul mouthed Prestonians will probably travel to neighbouring towns for a good night out swearing.

Re: Proud Preston

They'd need a sizeable swearbox :hehetable

Re: Proud Preston

And if you're asked to swear on oath your reply would be, 'best not, it costs too much'......:)

Seems like George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can't Say on TV" is alive and well in Preston ... funnily enough, they are also the seven words you can't say on AccyWeb: I would list them in the over 18s; but I'm not allowed in there 'cause I'm Canadian.;)
