Re: What is the worst......
any smelly stuff like body creams, bubble bath, bath salts etc ... im allergic to them - yet certain ones i can use ... but more often than not i cant use them ... They do come in handy for raffle prizes though!!!! Mind you having a shower only - no bath - as well helps ...:D:D:D so when i say thank you very much but i cant use them i'll donate them to the school as a raffle prize ... because i dont have a bath i only have a shower .. gets me out of trouble ... when that dont work i do say they make me come out in a rash ..

ah, i bought her musk from avon cos everything else smells like cat wee on her :D
sometimes she buys me charlie red.... which i used when i was a teenager lol |
Re: What is the worst......
Smeone once bought me Poison, which I'm allergic to, lol :D apart from not liking the smell.
Smellies are very personal to a particular person, they smell different on everyone, so unless you know that person and what they like, it's a bit of a no-no really. Think I've still got some Charlie Red somewhere, untouched for years... |
Re: What is the worst......
My next door neighbour (nice lad but not full shilling) bought me a foam rubber doll dressed as a cowboy named 'Mr Wonderful'. When his hand was squeezed he uttered flattering sentances in an american accent:eek:

Re: What is the worst......
Last year I received some cheese.
The person who gave it to me brought it round a couple of weeks before Christmas and failed to tell me what was in it. When I opened it on Christmas day I saw that it had 'Keep Refrigerated' written on the pack.................straight in the bin. :( |
Re: What is the worst......
My late husband was completely useless at presents. I used to beg him to let me choose what I would like then he could wrap it up but his idea of a good present was a surprise so, no, I had to have something he chose. It was usually more of a shock than a surprise.
One year I asked if I could have a silk nightie. Now, I don't know about you, but to me that suggests something slinky and sexy, which is what I expected. What I got was made of silk all right but it was a maroon nightshirt with a collar and long sleeves and buttons up the front. Ah well, I suppose you could say he tried. :D |

There aren't really any bad presents, but I can remember one, my former mother-in-law once bought me a packet of cigars, just 3 months after I had sent 6 weeks in the chest unit in Bury General and two years after I quiting smoking:( You can take it that my ex mother-in-law and I didn't really get on:D

Re: What is the worst......
My Nanna used to make a point of buying every person in the family the exact same amount of money - to the penny!
This meant that she would go out and buy a present then spend the rest of the alloted money on slightly odd presents to make up the money. One year i got given a pack of 10 disposable shower caps, but because that would have topped me over the alloted money, the present of 10 disposable shower caps was a shared present with my mum! :D |

Re: What is the worst......
Well Gayle, did hear Martin Lewis speaking recently about 'Not cancelling Christmas' due to the credit crunch, advising you to allocate a certain amount to presents and not to go beyond this.
So think your Gran could well have been his personal assistant in another life .. :D |

Re: What is the worst......
Another one was last year i stopped drinking - my birthday 4 weeks later .. received a bottle of baileys, wasnt bothered cos was only on antibiotics then when the course finished i could drink it. Then docs changed my tablets at the hospital - alcohol a strict no no - so gave it to someone to stick in a raffle, then christmas last year received a bottle of baileys, saved that for the next raffle, my birthday in july received another bottle, that went in a raffle ..... i didnt get one for christmas this year!!!

Re: What is the worst......
Almost the worst was what my great aunt Jane bought me every year: Snot rags:mad: But I think that the worst was my first elelctric train. It was a Hornby. The Duchess of Atholl. Won't mean much to many of you, but it was even neater than Keats' urn. Trouble is, my dad, and my uncle Fred (the one who gave me my first fag when I was 6:eek:, may he rot in hell), set the thing up and played with it all effing day. They were still at it when I was shoved off to bed, probably because I was getting in the way.:mad::mad:
