My mum was a diabetic type 2 and we bought her diabetic chocs once ... never again did we buy them. Just bought her normal ones and limited the intake. Our doc told us diabetic chocs are worse for her than normal ones because it says diabetic on the box - diabetics think oh we can eat those and eat the box ... and then theyre ill.

You would expect better from Boots and Thorntons where health is concerned, especially Boots:(

Not seen the programme myself, I know we have produced a question and answer sheet in response though. It's down to personal choice I suppose, we sell loads of them and most diabetics read the labels very carefully , even on diabetic branded stuff.
No different than "low fat" foods that are loaded with salt, "sugar free" drinks that have double the sweeteners.

Cherokey,
I am a diabetic and what the experts say is anything in moderation.

I went to see my specialist a couple of weeks ago and he said to me "i am glad all my patients were not as fit as you or I would not have a job" He then invited me to his retirement do, and me liking a free lunch said When is it ? He replied in about 20 years.
