For God's sake, forget political affiliations. I don't give a damn if this young man was a Tory or a committed Communist, it's the insensitivity that is at issue.

It's fine for the young to act like idiots and prance about finding humour in horrific situations. So, a child went missing? Maybe it was sexually, painfully, abused then, painfully murdered - gee, that's funny. Let's all have a laugh.

Why is it funny? Because the young prats have no concept of what it feels like to be a parent or a child victim. When you're in your late teens/early twenties the world revolves around YOU. It takes a degree of maturity to empathise with a horribly abused child or its parent. The only problem is that the world, in general, accepts and allows this sad, sick behaviour. Shame on the perpetrators and shame on Society for its acquiescence.

It is surely more insensitive for the media to bring it to the family's attention? And make money out of doing so.

Anyone picking up on the fact that I hate the media yet?
