accyweb: access denied at the library
 

thought i would hav a peek on accyweb this morn ;) while i was in the library and i was confrunted with 'ACCESS DENIED' to the site :eek:...ooo its a dangerous/naughty little accyweb now and one is forbidden to taste its fruit?

I think it is because Accy Web has a chat room..it's the same thing with the internet in hospitals.. a while ago the chat room was down and you could access from hospital but when chat was restored access was again denied.

Dammed good job too, its hard enough getting on the computers to do proper research, without all the hassle from them, wi nowt better to do, than mess around on a 2 hour stint at the library.

I fiddled around for ages with that tiny keyboard when I was in hospital in the summer, trying to access Accy Web.

It does seem daft that you can't use Accy Web from our hospitals, after paying dearly for the use of the television/phone/pc combination thingy.

I can understand restictions would be necessary on a children's ward, but not on an adult one.

hold on hold on, i've been on accyweb at Blackburn, Ossy AND Accy library, if it says access denied you tell the person who is manning the desk and they will tell you to just try it again, and it works, i've never had a problem

ha, ok i did try it again and it still kept saying it...and no other pages i was looking at had the problem...strange no?

If you want to go on accyweb from the library you must ask them to give you level 3 access there is no problem just ask and they will give you access to the site.
i have been in and asked about this as members where having problems and this how to get it sorted

It has something to do with the chat room being attached to accyweb most of the pc's in the library don't let you access chat rooms

I think they have an automatic restriction on the childrens wards, no pay per view telly's :D
