We used to be 5th...

And we used to be first:D .... our banks have this radical policy of lending money only to those who have a good chance of being able to pay back the loan ..... maybe a little old fashioned ... but that's what we are;)

By the way, the Bank of Canada is predicting that Canada will be out of the recession next year, with real growth in our economy.

He's not on Facebook as well, which is most unusual.

Perhaps he's under 24/7 protection, until a new identity can be found.

Explore The Global Competitiveness Report 2008-2009 © 2008 World Economic Forum but for some reason some bits of it are not working so you'll have to make do with second hand data ;) UK slips from top 5 to 44th spot in sound banking survey - Yahoo! Finance

We ? I thought you said in past posts that you was originally from Britain....
:D Because you like showing off with your dictionary correcting others.... Who could resist correcting a Canadian smart A_SE who`s banks have a radical policy of lending money :D I was under the impression that small Town Canadian banks still traded with trappers for their furs,a little old fashioned ... but that`s what they are ;)
That list of banks ranking is meaningless e.g Ireland number 11 Who`s banking system as just recently been uncovered to be one of the most corrupt.By the way, hope the prediction for growth in your economy is correct:conny:

I am originally from Britain, and I'm proud of it ... but I am Canadian .... I've lived in Canada for 42 years, and I am not ashamed to admit that I'm proud to call myself a Canadian ... and I don't need a dictionary, because I have a brain .... and whatever impression you are under about Canadian banks, I suggest you get out from under it ... and the Bank of Canada is as conservative in its predictions as Canadian banks are in their lending policies.

From the sound of it you don't sound very integrated in your chosen homeland of Ireland.

I'd have thought you'd have been embraced with open arms, being an intellectual, to counteract the accusation that they are at the bottom of the world's thick list.
