sick pay?

had a couple into surgery yesterday. Both out their brains <as usual>,
Difficult, moody, staggering and rude to the reception, incoherent and damned hard work
Anyways....
They are trying to have a baby
<he has 2-with ex wife>
<she has 2 in care. ....And a 15yr old who lives in another town with her 1 yr old daughter>

so..anyways.
He tells me...

' Its expensive 'aving a baby n Im tellin you like, if she is pregnant like. Im goin to come off the sick like n go back to work!'

No names, no area. no surgery, no age ... just an attempt to highlight an issue and join in.

Not stupid at all Cashy......Twelve months ago I went into a carry out in Darwen to treat my family to a curry supper....10 in all...I noticed one guy looking at me to which I responded 'Alright Pal' as a form of greeting...His response was 'Who the F are you calling pal. Luckily my two sons in law, who are both built like brick outhouses walked into the shop and matey backed off.
Why would I at my age or why should I at my age be threatened by these low life.?

The original post said he would have to go back to work, so he may be one of those who have paid tax that you are going to hold a referendum for ;)

Sadly these 'junkie scum' are someones children.

Who do you plan killing next in order to protect society?

cmonstanley 17-03-2009 23:33

so you dont care about children these people are grown adults they took a choice and need to be put of their misery.....i dont give a pooh anymore anything that threatens chldrens future needs fixing.so you want total anarchy in a bankrupt country where rape and murder is the norm, because they want a quick fix .i dont think so....

Yes I do care. I just happen to know that the issue isn't so black and white as you seem to think it is.

Would you advocate the killing of silly little twelve year olds smoking a spliff, which is of course an illegal drug?

Or a thirteen year old girl, tempted away from care by some sick git who quickly gets her hooked on crack or smack, before putting her on the game to pay for her habit?

Personally I'd much rather see vigilantes clearing the streets of dealers, especially the Mr. Bigs, most of whom never touch drugs, they just live off the profits.;)

From a professional point of view, there are no confidentiality rules being breached here. No names mentioned, just a typical, everyday scenario seen in GP, Antenatal, DWP, Social Service and Probation offices and surgeries throughout the country.

If I had a quid for everyone who'd said similar to me in my job, I'd have retired 6 years ago..:)

I think there are a couple of issues

1. Why only get a job now she is having a baby? It sounds like he prefers to not work - that might not be true of course.

2. If she has 2 kids in care already should she be allowed to have more? If we assume she is not fit to look after the other two - might not be the case here but is valid in other cases - why will she be fit to look after another?

I couldn't see any problem with Susie's original post, its an everyday occurance in todays world. We have a situation where there are people who can work but won't and those who want to work who can't. Its always baffled me how some people can spend their days in the pub and bookies, without lifting a finger to do any sort of work. Mind you I have to admit I have a big drink problem myself, I can't flaming well afford it:rolleyes:

ha ha it would be hilarious if this wasnt so serious.your saying its alright to sponge of the state and have kids that would put the safety of kids in danger like the recent one that died, when a alcaholic junkie killed him.as in the original post it states the mother already has 2 in care.it must be serious for social services to take these children into care.the third one lives in a different town probably to avoid abuse...this is part of the problem of todays society, kids left to fend for themselves due to unfit parents, what kind of future is that:confused::confused:

Just a little wonder, It was highlighted in a few national newspapers about a family who are all on benefits and are complaining they should get more money because they are to Obese to work, they say its a medical condition, then they shoot themselves the foot saying that their favourite pastime is nibbling on biscuits all day, and there was a picture of the ladies all smiling for the camera, who said everybody gets their 15 minutes of fame, what a way to star.:(

Going back to the original post.

This person may not have broken any confidentiality rules.

But just consider..
If she was local. (which she isn't)

Then consider the fact that she may be a receptionist at your surgery.

Then consider she is talking about another issue.

The issue she is talking about is quite obviously about you, or one of your family....

How would you feel then???

Seem to remember there was a similar issue in the local papers recently.
