who would you most like to have a conversation with
I watches a brilliant tv program this week all about Charles Darwin after watching i sat and thought how great it would be to able to have some time talking to him he was so interesting and so clever.. so if you could have some time to talk with anyone past or present ... who would it be .. and why?

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
I think I would have to say Tony Benn, since he left front line politics I've heard him speak no a number of occasions and although I don't agree with his political ethos, I find him a very interesting man

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
I've been lucky, I've had conversations with some very interesting people. From John Profumo to Sir Peter Ustinov, via Enoch Powell, David Bowie, and Mike Tyson, to name drop but a few.
If I could have a conversation with anyone, past or present, I'd chose to talk to Oscar Wilde, or Ramsay MacDonald. |

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
I would love to speak with my father.......I don't aspire to conversations with the famous/infamous.
I would love to ask about my family background......things I never thought would be important when I was growing up. We miss so many opportunites because we don't really know what we don't know(I hope that makes sense). I'm sorry my answer is not more entertaining. |

John F. Kennedy, I'd mention that it looks a bit like rain, better use the covered Limo' today, (well, after all I wouldn't want to panic him).

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
Yes Cashy......so many 'mysteries'(though not sinister ones) could be solved if I could just have a couple of hours with my father and both sets of grandparents.
It is important to know that we are the people we are, because of where we came from. And the journey through life made by these people, makes us who we are today. |
Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
Less, you can't do that it would change history beyond all recognition:) (maybe even for the better...though I wouldn't bank on it)

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
Jesus Christ and C.G.B. Spender.

I would love one more conversation with my mum there is so much i wanted to say to her and never got the chance to one of my biggest regrets in life.
Aside from that i would love to sit and chat with Billy Connelly,Jeremy Clarkson and Bruce Dickinson three people who have provided me with countless hours of entertainment over the years. |

Thats the answer I get from the many people I've met, whilst doing my research on WW1 soldiers. They have all gone away delighted, that some one has given them information they thought would never be known, If I can give them a picture as well then thats all the better. One old lady in Accrington Library, started crying when she saw her Grandfather for the first time. Retlaw. |

Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
I don't want to know what my ancestors think of life now........I would like to know how they met......who the important people in their life were......and why they were important.
I would like to know how they handled the hard life and the disappointments....and how they overcame the difficulties and how they had fun. I would like to know who didn't get on with who, and about the petty(or not so petty squabbles) in their lives. All families have them don't they. Alas, it is too late for me to ask all these questions.......and when we meet up again......I'm not sure that all this stuff will be important anymore. |
Re: who would you most like to have a conversation with
Without wishing to appear too narcisstic, I'd quite like to have a conversation with the seven year old me. It'd be really interesting to see how you'd changed, and if you liked the younger you.:D
I've always made an effort to tell my nearest and dearest what I wanted them to know, and I consider myself lucky in that regard, but if time travel wan't an obstacle I'd love to have a conversation with my eight great grandparents, none of whom I knew, but I know quite a lot about them, and it would be interesting to form my own opinion of them. |

Suppose any of the usual suspects, like Einstein, any of the philosophers, Shakespeare, Dickens.
And just because I adored him, Eric Morecambe. :) |

If I could pick a celebrity it would be Marilyn Monroe, more to her than met the eye, otherwise my grandad on my father's side, he died when my dad was just 14 and he sounds like an interesting man, certainly would have been if my dad is anything to go by!
Oh and Loz, Bruce Dickinson is a lovely bloke, very chatty and very clever!:mosher::mosher: |
