This crossed my mind too .... seems like the panacea has been found ... several times a dog of mine has had a tussle with a skunk .... (you have to smell skunk to really appreciate this one) ... I wonder, if you bathed the dog in dolly blue ... mmmm

we used to put some Dolly Blue in a small tin with a length of string
Then when you where Decorating and putting wallpaper up the blue string was used to mark the paper down its length on the back to be cut
You marked the paper top and bottom put the string on the marks and pulled it tight then lift the string and let go it left a perfect blue line to see where to cut

We use chalk lines these days

Dolly Blue line is/was a lot easier to see than chalk though

You could get red or blue powdered chalk mick, made nice blue and red lines as well:D
