Good Savings opportunity for low income familes

HM Revenue & Customs:Saving Gateway - what is it and who qualifies

basically whatever you save over 2 years up to 25 quid a month gets 50% added by teh Gov.

Certain rules to qualify but IMHO this is a good idea and a good opportunity.

This scheme won't cost the goverment much, most people on low incomes struggle to get through the week never mind save.

So the government want people to spend to get the economy back on it's feet then announce a new saving scheme :D
