Mexico

My daughter booked a holiday in Mexico six months ago.
The Foreign Office have been dithering since the outbreak of swine flu if travel to Mexico should be allowed or not, leaving my daughter in limbo as to the holiday. would be allowed or not, The travel company would not allow her an alternative holiday until the foreign office gave instructions as to the safety of travel to Mexico.
The Foreign Office today said there was no restrictions therefore booked holidays could go ahead and she has to go to maxico or loose her money.
There have been more outbreaks of this flu in the UK as well as fresh outbreaks in the rest of the world.
My daughter has two children, she does not want to go, I dont want her to go. There is nothing we can do without my daughter loosing well in excess of £1000, any suggestions?

Re: Mexico

I once cancelled an overseas trip because I had pleurisy.
I lost my holiday deposit £60 but didn't have to pay the rest.
This needs a doc's cooperation to arrange and a small fee for his letter.

Back pain is notoriously difficult to diagnose - I suggest you son-in-law 'develops symptoms' and describes an incident of recent heavy lifting which might have caused a slipped disc.
By the time our NHS will get around to any specialist referral the holiday date will have passed.

You are bent....why not put your name forward as a candidate in the next local elections.
Only joking Margaret......not an easy solution. :)

I really had pleurisy - I don't lie but am aware that most people do.
I don't think that there is any other way out, and that lie would harm no-one and may well be the only way.

Ye but....my son in law is as fit as a butchers dog but I am sure he would like to prove that in any other country but Mexico. :)
